A female inmate was found dead inside the toilet of Morang Prison on Wednesday morning. According to police, the deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Radha Bhattarai, also known as Radhika, a resident of Barahachhetra Municipality-6. She was discovered hanging in the toilet of the women’s cell. In early Magh 2080, Bhattarai had jumped into the Sunsari-Morang Irrigation Canal with her two sons and a daughter. While she and one of the children were rescued, another child died in the incident. Following the death of her child, Bhattarai was charged with infanticide. On Kartik 7, 2081, the Sunsari District Court sentenced her to 20 years in prison.
