Nepali kickboxer Abiral Ghimire, widely known as the ‘Snow Leopard,’ has achieved another milestone in the world of kickboxing. Ghimire emerged victorious in the K1 World Max 2025 tournament by defeating Japanese fighter Yasuhito Sirasu in a match held at the National Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday. This victory marks another major achievement in Ghimire’s career, following his triumph at the International Sports Kick Boxing Association (ISCA) World Championship in Nagoya, Japan, on October 27, 2024. With this latest win, he has now secured three titles in K1 Kickboxing and holds championships in both ISCA and Hit Kickboxing competitions. In the K1 World Max 2025 final, Ghimire dominated his opponent, securing the title with a decisive win in the third round. Over the years, he has defeated kickboxers from several countries, including France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Bolivia, the Netherlands, and Thailand, once again bringing global recognition to Nepal by raising the national flag on the international stage. Ghimire’s journey in kickboxing began under the guidance of his father, Dev Ghimire, a former international kickboxer and full-contact karate champion. Before competing in the tournament, Abiral underwent a month-long special training at the Tiger Muay Thai Club in Thailand. His father, Dev Ghimire, was the first South Asian athlete to compete in the K1 Professional Kickboxing Tournament held in Seoul, South Korea, in 2004.
