Police have arrested a man from the Kalimati–Tankeshwar area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-13 with nearly Rs 1.3 million in cash and narcotics. Acting on a tip-off about drug trafficking, a plainclothes team deployed from the Kalimati Police Circle conducted a raid and detained 30-year-old Suraj Nagarkoti. He is a permanent resident of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-5 in Makwanpur district, police said. During a lawful search of the rented room where Nagarkoti had been staying, police recovered 0.37 grams of a substance suspected to be brown heroin, nine capsules of tramadol, Rs 1.281 million in cash, four steel containers used for storing drugs, and an iPhone mobile phone. Preliminary examination of the seized mobile phone revealed messages and conversations linked to narcotics transactions with various individuals, according to police.
