Gandaki, Aug 2: Histopathology services have been launched for the first time under Gandaki Province. Histopathology is crucial for diagnosing cancer, monitoring disease progression, and guiding treatment decisions, experts say. According to Dr Bishwaraj Baral, Acting Chief of the Province Public Health Laboratory (PPHL), histopathology is about the microscopic examination of tissue samples typically collected through biopsies or surgeries to diagnose diseases and understand their underlying causes. While histopathology services have already been available in federal government hospitals and some private institutions, this marks the first time the service has been officially introduced from the government level in the province.
