Speaking at a press conference in Gorkha on Sunday, Dr Bhattarai said his decision was driven by national interest rather than personal ambition. He acknowledged that although he had earlier stated he would not contest the election, the changing political landscape and requests from the people of Gorkha prompted him to reconsider. “The House of Representatives is the highest forum of the people’s representatives.
