Police in Parsa have arrested a young woman on charges of issuing death threats to Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav and Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajeshman Singh over the phone. According to District Police Office Parsa spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Kishor Lamsal, the woman has been identified as Kiran Sah of Birgunj Metropolitan City-24, Ramgarh. She allegedly called Minister Yadav and Mayor Singh, threatening to shoot and kill them. Police said Sah was taken into custody for questioning after the minister and mayor lodged complaints. Investigators stated that the call was made in connection with frustration over the cholera outbreak in Birgunj, where her father and other family members are undergoing treatment in an intensive care unit. An audio clip of Sah allegedly speaking in an abusive manner with the minister has gone viral on Facebook since Friday, drawing wide attention.
