The Election Commission of Nepal has completed all preparations for the filing of nomination papers for the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) elections, ensuring the process will move ahead as scheduled. According to the Commission, arrangements have been finalized at the offices of 88 Chief Returning Officers and 88 Election Officers nationwide. Essential materials required to verify candidates’ names on the voter list have been delivered to all 165 Returning Officers’ offices, Assistant Spokesperson Kul Bahadur GC told state news agency RSS. Under the election code of conduct, candidates are required to submit property details along with their nomination papers. Each candidate must file 13 mandatory documents, including a sealed declaration detailing movable and immovable assets, bank and financial institution accounts, securities, shares, debentures, and any loans given or taken. As per the House of Representatives Election Rules, 2074 BS, nomination forms must be endorsed by one proposer and one seconder whose names appear on the final voter list of the same constituency. Both must sign the nomination documents. Candidates are also required to submit a personal details form and certificates related to any payments received from elected, nominated, or appointed bodies, in line with the Election Directive for Members of the House of Representatives, 2082. The Election Commission has announced that nomination papers will be registered on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at all 165 election officers’ offices across the country. The preliminary list of candidates will be published the same day between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The post March 5 HoR Elections: Nomination Filing Preparations Completed first appeared on epardafas.com.
