KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) is set to kick off its election campaign from Kathmandu with a mass demonstration. According to UML Secretary and Bagmati Province In-charge Mahesh Basnet, the party’s Bagmati Provincial Committee will formally launch a special election campaign on Magh 4 with a large public rally in the capital. Similarly, UML Secretary and Capital Special Committee In-charge Dr. Rajan Bhattarai said that the party will announce its newly formed Capital Special Committee, constituted under the amended party statute, on Magh 2, along with the start of election-related activities in Kathmandu. The UML’s Central Committee meeting held on Poush 26 had decided to begin a nationwide campaign targeting the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. The party aims to mobilize its cadres across the country through mass outreach programs, rallies, and organizational expansion as part of its election strategy.
