HoR Polls in 47 Days: EC Finalizes Logistics Firms for Election Material Supply - english.pardafas.com
With 47 days remaining for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5, the Election Commission (EC) has intensified preparations by finalizing logistics arrangements for transporting election materials to remote hilly and mountainous districts. The Commission has shortlisted 13 transportation companies to handle the delivery of ballot papers and other essential election materials to difficult terrains. Among them, two firms—Sajha Courier and Cargo and Trans Air International Logistics Pvt. Ltd.—have been selected to provide courier services for sensitive materials, including ballot papers. The EC said it had also invited applications from firms capable of providing helicopter services to reach inaccessible areas. However, no company submitted an application for aerial transportation. In addition, 11 firms have been enlisted to provide truck and container services for ground transportation. According to the Commission, the selection was made after evaluating applications submitted in response to a public notice issued on January 1. Firms were assessed based on prescribed criteria, including annual average turnover. The EC stated that the listed service providers will be mobilized as needed to ensure the timely and secure supply of election materials across the country.
