KATHMANDU: The shooting of the film Pension Patta, directed by character actor Mao Tse Gurung, has officially wrapped up. The 33-day shoot concluded on Tuesday at a resort in Kaski. Expressing gratitude to the entire technical team and crew who worked tirelessly day and night, Gurung announced the completion of the film’s shooting. The release date for the film has not yet been announced. “Post-production work will begin in the coming days. The release date will be decided based on how long that process takes. We want to present the audience with a quality film, and we won’t compromise on that,” said Gurung. The film, produced under Mao Tse Gurung Films, features an ensemble cast including Dayahang Rai, Sunil Thapa, Pashupati Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Raj Thapa Kaucha, Luniwa Tuladhar, Bishwas Gurung, Maya Gurung, and Yassili Rai. Gurung himself is also investing in the project as its “godfather.” Although the title may suggest the story of a former soldier, the director and producer clarified that the film portrays how a greedy young man transforms into a generous person. Gurung has also written the film’s story. The film’s investors include Min Konme Gurung (Sikles), Bhoj Bahadur Gurung (UK), and Sapana Gurung, with DB Gurung serving as the production manager. Cinematography is handled by Sushan Prajapati, casting by Suraj Tamu, and music composed by Jhuma Limbu, Manoj Thapa Magar, and Shiv Baraili. Mao Tse Gurung, who made his directorial debut with the hit Dayarani, is now actively involved in writing and directing, in addition to acting. Previously, he directed films in the Gurung language and continues to take on multiple roles in filmmaking. Pension Patta will be distributed nationwide by RR Films, led by Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha.
