A total of 12 candidates have filed their nominations in Baitadi for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, 10 candidates have been fielded by various political parties, while two have submitted independent nominations. The party nominees include Chaturbahadur Chand from the Nepali Congress, Damodar Bhandari from the CPN-UML, Pramananda Bhatt from the Nepali Communist Party, Bhupenbahadur Chand from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and Harimohan Bhandari from the Rastriya Swatantra Party. Similarly, Ramsingh Kunwar has filed his candidacy from the CPN (Maoist), Aansingh Bhandari from the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Nawaraj Koirala from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Bisansingh Bohara from the Aam Janata Party, and Gajendraraj Pandey from the Shram Sanskriti Party. Jayaprakash Pant and Tejbahadur Chand have registered their candidacies as independent candidates, Chief Election Officer Tirtharaj Bhatt said. As per the election schedule, claims and objections to the nominations will be registered on Magh 7, followed by scrutiny and decisions on Magh 8. The revised list of candidates will be published on Magh 9. Candidates may withdraw their nominations on Magh 10, after which the final list will be published the same day. Election symbols will be allotted on Magh 11.
