Mandala Theatre-Nepal will host the third Nepal International Theatre Festival (NITFest) from Chaitra 6 to 12, 2081, taking place simultaneously across four cities: Kathmandu, Pokhara, Belbari, and Bharatpur.
NITFest 2025 will showcase 17 carefully curated international plays alongside local plays outside the Kathmandu Valley. The festival welcomes theatrical voices from nine countries: India, China, Tunisia, UK/Scotland, Iran, Japan, Spain, Lithuania, and Norway.
With the slogan “Theatre for Social Transformation: Light of Indigenous Wisdom”, NITFest 2025 is dedicated to fostering social harmony, respecting social diversity, and helping to preserve intangible cultural heritage through social awareness, art and exchange. Additionally, the festival will help global theater groups and artists unite on a shared platform to explore their aesthetic expressions and solidarity for relevant socio-political concerns.
Beyond the play productions, the festival offers a variety of activities, including daily interactions, panel discussions, seminars, open-air performances, theatre photo exhibitions, encouragement award ceremonies, cultural and artistic stalls, and more.
